Hundred-Year Darkness

Dark Jedi are exiled and eventually found the Sith Empire on Korriban.

In this ancient conflict, a faction of Force-users who embraced passion and power were defeated by the Jedi and exiled. Those Dark Jedi later found Korriban, interbred with the Sith species, and founded the first Sith Empire. The schism is the origin of Jedi-Sith war in later chronicles (Tales of the Jedi / The Old Republic).
