PRIVACY

Holonet Archives does not collect email addresses. Accounts are a callsign and a password. The password is stored only as a scrypt hash.

Accounts and Comms. When you open an account, the archive stores your callsign, password hash, optional bio, the worlds, personnel, and events you open while signed in, and the comments you file. Comments are public, with your callsign, rank, and the time the archive stored them. A session cookie keeps you signed in on this browser. Signing in on another browser shows the same comments, because they are kept with the archive rather than only on your device.

Checks. Before a comment is stored, a word list holds swearing and obvious bot posts. Saved classifiers for harassment, sexual content, and deceptive spam run only after they have been trained locally and installed. Until a model file is present, that check is skipped. Debate about war, death, and canon is not on the word list. Held text is not published.

Correspondents. The older posts on the board are fictional Holonet voices with a seeded history. They are marked Correspondent. They are not visitor accounts and cannot sign in.

Local Datapad. Pins, recently viewed records, galaxy map preferences, and the audio toggle are stored in your browser with localStorage. Opening a dossier while signed in also sends that record id to your account so your survey rank can rise. The Datapad list itself stays on this device.

Analytics. Google Analytics 4 records anonymized page views and custom engagement events (planet selects, search, pins, tour steps). Ad blockers can prevent this. We do not sell personal information.

RSS. The /feed.xml feed is a public changelog. Subscribing through a reader does not create an account here.
