Darth Bane was the Sith Lord who reformed the Sith Order by establishing the Rule of Two after the destruction of the Brotherhood of Darkness at the Seventh Battle of Ruusan. His doctrine stated that there should only be two Sith at any time: a master to embody power and an apprentice to crave it. This philosophy allowed the Sith to survive in secret for a millennium until Darth Sidious's rise to power.
