Utapau's surface is windswept desert plain, but its civilization lives below: vast natural sinkholes, some kilometers across, hold the vertical cities of the Pau'an administrators and Utai laborers. Wind-power vanes and dragon-mount rookeries stud the sinkhole walls above subterranean oceans.

In the war's final days, General Grievous relocated Separatist headquarters to Pau City's tenth level. Obi-Wan Kenobi tracked him there, dueled him among the landing platforms, and finished the cyborg general with an undignified blaster ('so uncivilized') - hours before his own clones, on Utapau's sinkhole walls, received Order 66.

First appearance: Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (2005)
