Tatooine

Tatooine circles the twin G-type suns Tatoo I and Tatoo II, a world of endless dune seas, salt flats and mesas that was once - according to geological surveys - covered by oceans and rainforest. Razed in antiquity, it survives on moisture farming, scavenging and the underworld economy of the Hutts, who supplanted Old Republic authority in the region and ran Mos Espa's podracing circuit as their private kingdom.

For a backwater 'farthest from the bright center of the galaxy,' Tatooine bends galactic history twice over: it produced Anakin Skywalker, the slave boy identified by Qui-Gon Jinn as the Chosen One, and sheltered his son Luke under the watch of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Jabba the Hutt's death above the Great Pit of Carkoon and the later rescue of Grogu by Boba Fett and Din Djarin both played out under its suns.
