Takodana is a green crossroads world of lakes and temperate forest at the seam between Western Reaches and the wider galaxy - neutral ground where smugglers, spacers and fugitives drink under one roof: the castle of Maz Kanata, the thousand-year-old 'pirate queen' whose hall flew the flags of a hundred crews.

In 34 ABY Han Solo brought Rey and Finn here; in the castle's cellar Rey touched the Skywalker lightsaber and saw her first Force vision. Minutes later the First Order razed the castle hunting BB-8, and Kylo Ren carried Rey off - the Resistance's X-wing counterattack over the lake announcing Poe Dameron's return.
