Oba Diah

Oba Diah is a black-cliff world of obsidian mesas above acid seas, throneworld of the Pyke Syndicate - the galaxy's spice cartel, whose family compound rises from the rock like a knife. The Pykes move Kessel's product across the galaxy and remember every debt.

It was the Pykes whom Darth Tyranus hired to murder Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas when the clone army's commission needed silencing; the recovered shuttle from the Oba Diah moon crash cracked the conspiracy open for the Jedi Council - ten years too late. The Syndicate's wartime reach later drew Maul's Shadow Collective and the Crimson Dawn alliance.
