⬢ CURATED RECORDNaboo is a geologic rarity: a porous world without a molten core, its interior a honeycomb of caves and tunnels saturated by water and veined with naturally occurring plasma. Two civilizations share it - the human Naboo, settlers from Grizmallt who built domed riverside cities of classical stone, and the indigenous Gungans, whose hydrostatic-bubble cities hide in the deep lakes.
The Trade Federation's blockade and invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY was the opening move of Darth Sidious's long game; the Battle of Naboo united the two peoples and put a fourteen-year-old Queen Amidala on the galactic stage. The planet later gave the galaxy both Padme Amidala and Sheev Palpatine - democracy's champion and its executioner, born of the same quiet world.
