⬢ CURATED RECORD

Mustafar is a small volcanic world caught in a tidal tug-of-war between the gas giants Jestefad and Lefrani, its crust kneaded into perpetual eruption. The Techno Union harvested its mineral wealth through shielded collection arms skimming lava rivers; the native Mustafarians evolved in its cave systems.

Mustafar is sacred and scarred ground in Sith history. In 19 BBY the Separatist Council was massacred here by the newly-christened Darth Vader, and hours later Obi-Wan Kenobi left Vader limbless and burning beside a lava flow - the duel that finished Anakin Skywalker. Vader later raised his fortress, Fortress Vader, over an ancient Sith cave to meditate in pain. After his death, the planet began - remarkably - to bloom.

First appearance: Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (2005)
