Mimban

Mimban is a mud world: swamp lowlands under permanent grey rain, fought over for its mineral wealth by the Empire against native Mimbanese resistance in a campaign of trenches, fog and bayonets that resembled nothing so much as ancient wet-war holos.

Corporal Han Solo, washed out of the Imperial flight academy, slogged through Mimban's trenches in 13 BBY - where he met Captain Beckett's crew of impostors, was thrown to 'the beast' for calling them out, and walked out of the mud-pit with a Wookiee named Chewbacca. The galaxy's greatest partnership began in a Mimban cage.
