Dathomir

Dathomir glows red - its swamps, mists and bone-strewn forests lit by a crimson sun. It was the fortress of the Nightsisters, witch-clans wielding ichor-green magick drawn from the planet itself, and breeding ground of their Nightbrother servant clans - Zabrak warriors among whom Darth Maul was born.

General Grievous's droid army annihilated the Nightsisters mid-Clone Wars at Dooku's order, leaving Mother Talzin's magick echoing in empty villages. The planet's undead later snared travelers; Asajj Ventress, its most famous daughter, and Maul, its most infamous son, both carried Dathomir's shadow across the galaxy.
