Crait

Crait is a blinding white salt flat over crimson crystal substrate - every footstep and ski-speeder pass tears a red wound in the white. Decades before the Galactic Civil War it housed an early Rebel Alliance outpost behind a colossal armored door, its halokite tunnels home to crystal foxes (vulptices).

In 34 ABY the remnant of the Resistance - barely a transport's worth - made its stand here against Kylo Ren's army. Luke Skywalker's Force projection from Ahch-To duelled Ren on the salt plain, buying the survivors escape through the vulptex tunnels; the effort cost Luke his life, and the broom boy of Canto Bight heard the story within weeks.
