Bothawui is the cosmopolitan homeworld of the Bothans - fur-shifting, politically gifted operators who run the galaxy's most storied intelligence network, the Bothan Spynet. Officially neutral in every war, Bothawui sells information to all sides with scrupulous dishonesty.

In the Clone Wars its orbit hosted Anakin Skywalker's ambush of Grievous among the rings and asteroids. A generation later came the species' epitaph: the operation to steal the second Death Star's location, of which Mon Mothma said the words every Bothan knows - 'Many Bothans died to bring us this information.'

First appearance: Mentioned in Return of the Jedi (1983); seen in The Clone Wars
