⬢ CURATED RECORD

Anoat is a poisoned, nearly abandoned world that gives its name to the Anoat sector — the slice of map that holds Hoth, Bespin, and the Ison Corridor. After industrial catastrophe it was left toxic; travelers use the name more often for the sector than the rock.

Han Solo's 'I just made a perfect landing' escape from Hoth ran through this sector toward Bespin. In Uprising and later references, an Imperial governor still claimed the dead world. It is a waypoint, a warning, and the reason the Hoth-Bespin run feels like the edge of nowhere.

First appearance: Named in The Empire Strikes Back (1980) as the Anoat sector
